What We Did:

Ben: Continued working on the Content Management System for the site. He added a separate CSS for the site.
Kyle: Finished the newsletters styling that was available to him. And continued working on the Splash Page.

April 16 2010

What We Did:

Kyle: locked his keys in his cars at Josh's and Ben had to call AAA, all while he continued to debug for all the browsers. Were happy to say that the site is now functional in a cohesive manner on most browsers and both windows and mac. He is now working on changing the menu from our original plugin to a less complicated one.
Josh: continued work on the splash page. Faster dot movement, and different resolutions.
Ben: got PHP my admin to work!

Were getting closer to our milestone of a completely developed template page for the rest of the production.

April 02 2010

Good Week, turns out we are awesome. We solved some serious issues this week and at the meeting. We have to thank a few people who gave us a helping hand, Dan Paquette, Dave Schwan, and Wes

Josh: continued work on the splash page, with camera angles, file conversion, rendering of the file.
Kyle: After Ben destroyed Kyle's original template code. Kyle went through and wrote much of the template files to common coding practices. With the help of friends kyle finished the header template of the swirling image and got the iframes to work properly.
Ben: Ben worked with Dave and Wes to create PMA Testing environment. Created first test user accounts and databases for content management system.

Midterm Grades

ISEA :: Midterm Grade
PM: Ben Byers (+ WCHS Newsletter)
Chris Fraver (+ Metadash)
Kyle O'Brien (only project)
Josh Trieber (only project)

Positives: Only about one week behind according to schedule, which can easily be made up.

Suggestions: Want to see some progress on the site building ASAP. Look at schedule – please add a bit more detail regarding content and add some deadlines. Also, please indicate who is doing what so that we know who the go to person is for specifics. You have two full-time people on this project, so we want to see major progress ASAP. We understand the lull in waiting for feedback from the client(s).

Grade to Date: B+

Week of March 1

Hi all,

Notes from last week:
• Josh: the animation should be what, about 250 pixels tall? (960 wide for the site, right?)
• We need to ask Sue how she is currently updating the ISEA site (type of content management)
• Plan on presenting the Wireframe design on Thursday, and the final Selected design! It would be great to see an animation sample, as well!

Thanks,
Heather

Team update

Today we began work on the sIFR flash-styling plugin for the text on our website. Kyle is doing further research on how the javascript for this plugin functions, and how we can bulletproof our design for the occasional user that does not have Flash installed, since we are working on an international site.

In other news, tonight we contacted Sue Gollifer and Jim Demmer in regards to seeking a response for our new site design comps, and FTP-ing a local copy of the ISEA site from Georgia Tech's server onto the BGSU server for local testing.

Weekly Group Meeting Feb 16th 2010

What We Did:
The weekly group meeting for the week of Feb 9th consisted of:
Ben and Chris: updated the website design and discussed, color scheme and proper site element placement.
Josh: continued working on the header image and animation for the site
Kyle: played with code and the Jquery plugin, and worked out the proper CSS for the group's header image rotation idea.

The team continues getting things around for actual production of the site as they wait for validation for a chosen design.

NEED COMPS ASAP!

Hi all,

Sue is at CAA only until tomorrow and wanted to review the three comps with the ISEA folks there before she leaves. Can you absolutely get the three comps to us all by then? We talked about sending one of each of the two different designs (Ben's and Chris'), then a third design which combines the best of both - that we critiqued yesterday.

Let Lori and I know when you are sending.

Best,
Heather

Meeting: 2/5/2010

What we did:
The team discussed possible ideas about layout and design of the website while keeping
to the client's requests. Other than that not much discussion happened as the team used this meeting as the first official production meeting of the site. Each member will have at least one design of the new isea website to show on Tuesday on Feb. 9th.

Break Down of Member's work:
Josh: Worked on the header banner image. Using Maya created a 3-D abstract Design in which we will texture and take pictures of for the website's banner.
Ben/Kyle/Chris: All worked on their re-design of the isea website.

Ben is setting up a date and time for us to meet with the director of the project from the ISEA
Talk to the Director about the possibility of a new ISEA logo
Talk to the Director about a completely new design aesthetic for the ISEA website.

Exploring the possibility of redesigning the Flash Archive.

We noticed numerous pages that contained the same information found at different locations on the site. Often times confusing the user and complicating their navigation of the site. We plan on removing the repetition of information, and simplifying the navigation of the site.
